I hate to admit it, but these magnifier sheets are something i've considered buying for years, but because i was uncertain i just kept putting off. Finally i was just like "what the hell is wrong with you, BUY THEM", and i'm so damn glad i did. Once again, i have a much bigger idea in mind, that'll i'll shoot with someone else, but i wanted to see if they produced what i wanted, plus i'm just super damn impatient, so i stayed up late trying it out on myself. And: There are bunches more, with some added elements, so i'll probably post a few more later.
Added a little texture to the background, and had to remove a few supporting pieces, but otherwise untouched. [I finally got to use my gels in the appropriate manner! And it came out just as i wanted! Super proud of myself. Gold stars given, back sore from patting, etc, etc.] 012411 Canon t2i
It's got this wonderful neo-classical feel to it - the texture, the golden light - really lovely. And then, of course, it's confusing and somewhat frightening, which is a nice contrast. Very nice!
I love how disorienting the different magnifications are. Very interesting concept! This also feels somewhat like a bizarre classical painting. Maybe the tones or the softness of it.
I look forward to seeing how else you use these sheets as well.
